Jose Isabel Orozco Jr. (1971-2017)

Jose Isabel Orozco, Jr., more affectionately known as “Pepe”, “Big Oag”, or “SpeakerBox”, passed into eternal life, October 11th, 2017 in Downey, CA. He was born on December 16th, 1971 in Los Angeles, CA to Jose Isabel Orozco Sr. and Sara Covarrubias.  He attended Schurr High School, Class of 1990.

Jose was an avid football and baseball fan and loved his Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Dodgers; “Da Bears” and “Los Doyers”.  He was a little league umpire and coach, and also played baseball and softball, and his other interests included banda music and charreada. Everyone knew him as an immensely lovable soul with a contagious smile, a roaring laugh, and a distinguishable whistle.

Jose is survived by his three sons, Manuel Jose Orozco, Daniel Joseph Orozco, and Jesus Lorenzo Orozco; his siblings Martha Covarrubias Ramirez, Jorge Mendez, Martin Rigoberto Orozco, Pedro Orozco, Armida Orozco Miramontes, Margarita Orozco Luna, and Francisco Orozco.  Jose was predeceased by his parents and his eldest sister Maricela Ramirez.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 26th from 5pm to 10pm at Continental Funeral Home, 5353 E Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90022. Funeral Services to be held Friday, October 27th at 12pm at his final resting place: Calvary Cemetery, Queen of the World Mausoleum, 4201 Whittier Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90023.  Name of Officiant: Father Jose Sanchez.
